As I type this, Utah is up 10 on Houston and looks like they will even the series (also The Wonder Years is recording too on ION network but that's a story for another time).
As the game goes on the Reggie Miller and Dick Stockton talk of set plays and strategy. Miller talks of plays that Van Gundy runs and which personnel they will use in specific scenarios.
I bring up this hard fought game and its style of play because I, like seemingly the rest of the non-mormon and sizzurp dranking population, are just waiting for a completely different style of basketball to start.
Dallas vs. Golden State.
Just a couple quick things before the tip I wanted to jot down.
This has been one of the most entertaining series I've seen. Big 3's and steals that might not be such a big deal in other games, when they happen in this series seem not only big but important. Like when I was watching and get the chills watching Baron backpedal on D after hitting a fallaway over a helpless Mavs defender. I think, this is the big three that I'll remember B-diddy hitting, knowing that this will be the one they show on Sportscenter. But the game is just filled with big shots that Baron and the rest of the Warriors have hit.
Also, there are dozens of things that the Warriors do each game that make me, the kid who went to basketball camp from 11 to 17, cringe. Ill-advised shots, passes to half court when taking the ball from out of bounds, skip passes that not only skip one guy but two, not much of a plan on offense, reaching for steals around mid-court, these are a few things.
I could add more things I'm sure but it doesn't matter at all. I love watching them play. As a Hornets fan, I feel like I'm a proud alum watching Baron Davis play. Late-arriving media, he wrecked shit in Charlotte too in the playoffs. I love watching Stephen Jackson potentially go ape shit in a couple different ways during the game. Also, maybe the most important thing that I love about this Warriors squad. Everyone on this team I would love to have on my team. I don't wanna sound like Winslow Jr. and use the 'going to war' analogy but in this scenario is apt. I'd go to war with everyone of the seven guys that Nellie uses.
Everyone is in yellow. It looks like the jammed five more thousand people in the arena then the fire code allows. It's gonna be loud and I can't wait to see how it plays out.
